Crossover Agrihood seeks to integrate the urban,
North Tulsa environment with food-producing, agricultural practices.

Bringing Fresh Food Home
For over a decade, North Tulsa has been designated a "food desert." With full-service grocery stores miles away—and an overabundance of fast food and dollar stores nearby—finding fresh, healthy produce has required a long commute.

The Crossover Agrihood is changing that. We are transforming empty parking lot islands and roadside grass into vibrant, irrigated garden beds right here at the Crossover Community Center. Through this urban farming initiative, our Crossover Kids gain hands-on gardening experience and vital nutritional education, bringing sustainable, fresh food straight to our community.

Growing Food, Growing Community
By weaving agricultural projects directly into our urban streets, we are cultivating a more resilient and self-sustaining neighborhood. Our neighborhood orchard does more than just grow fresh fruit—it helps us:

  • Boost Local Nutrition: Improving health and quality of life by putting fresh produce within arm's reach.
  • Reinvest Locally: Keeping economic resources right here in the Hawthorne community.
  • Provide Hands-On Education: Giving residents the tools and knowledge to practice sustainable agriculture in their own backyards.
